We had a great evening here, we were received with very patient service and menu explanations, we chose the Oysters as a starter, along with the Kingfish and Scallops, and I have to say they were very tasty. However Jello on the Oysters was icy cold, it still had some smoothies in it. However it didn't affect the taste. The main course was excellent, we were very impressed by these two pasta dishes. I would recommend this place to you and your friends!

● October 2023 ● 🌟 🌟🌟 3 stars I was quite excited to come here and try their food, especially pasta. Fusion food is tricky. Sometimes, it works, but the other time, it doesn't. I admit there was an unsure taste that I don't know whether I would order it again. Food: complimentary sourdough and butter was good, and we enjoyed it even wanting more. Oyster was interesting, kind of refreshing new taste combinations, but we would prefer simple fresh oyster that speaks for itself when it's fresh. Chicken skewers got good flavor with a little kick on Mexican inspired. I quite enjoyed the flavor. However, my partner got undercooked chicken, and because of the dimming dark light, we didn't see properly, so he probably had some of the undercooked chicken. We pointed out to wait staff. The dish was returned and they cooked us a new one. They also didn't charge it at the end. Spanner crab pasta was overrated. It was quite bland and babrely had meat in it. It was underwhelming for me, to be honest. The other pasta dish I felt like it's Asian flavor inspired, and it was average for me as I'm Asian so I expected more flavor. Octopus was okay, nothing exciting in flavor. We didn't order desert as we didn't feel like the food impressed us to want to try their desert. Service was good, attentive. We had a waitress who started her first day. I read on the website that it's no cash payment unless it's the exact amount. So we paid cash, and she politely refused, so I told her that I read it online. She was thanking me to let her know because she didn't know about cash payment before. She was polite and friendly, though. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing actually excited me to come for more. Thank you for your service.

I discovered this restaurant through Instagram a couple months ago and was desperate to visit. Last night I finally got the opportunity to dine at ALT Pasta Bar. It was honestly better than I imagined it to be! We had the best dining experiences. Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed and seated at our table. The service was amazing, food came out so quickly, the staff gave us good recommendations and we got a special treat right at the end of our meal. I went to take some pictures of the interiors at the end (which can be usually quite awkward) but the staff were so chill about it and were happy for me to take lots of pics. Can’t wait to come back again, especially for that Squid Ink Spaghetti!

Beautiful little tucked away spot in a laneway! We loved being able to watch the kitchen work from the bar seating. The pastas were innovative and delicious - we tried the Morton bay bug and spinach fettucini with abalone and both were incredible. Would love to return for lunch and make our way through all the pastas. The creme brulee dessert had a weird gummy texture, this was the only place where the food lost a star for us. Beverages were great, service was prompt and attentive. Would have appreciated a slower pace to the food and service as we felt quite rushed through each course and were finished with entrees barely 30 minutes after being sat. Overall still deserves 5 stars for the pasta and service alone! Excited to be back.

It's really hard to find somewhere where all the dishes are consistently top notch. Cocktails...delish. There were four of us and we shared 3 pastas and the beef short ribs (omg...MUST HAVE). Sharing was the best way to make sure we could maximise the menu items we could taste, as everything on this menu sounded delicious. Stand outs - short ribs, wagyu snack and moreton bay bug pasta. Brilliant service too - friendly and cheerful! Thanks for a great night.

We dined here after hearing and seeing all of the buzz around how great everything was here. The food was disappointing really. We had the chef's tasting menu at $95pp. This consisted of snacks, smalls, mains and a sweet to share. The snacks were: pumpkin sourdough & mushroom butter - my friend really liked the sourdough with the butter, I found it really nice too. oyster, Appellation Rock, herb granita, dashi jelly - this was just standard fresh oysters with a bit of flair on top, it was pretty okay. wagyu tartare, duck fat brioche, charcoal mayo - this was disappointing, I expected so much more from it, but it was oily and bland. The smalls were: scallop, jerusalem artichoke, yuzu ponzu, daikon - this dish was fresh and really nice to have. stracciatella, seasonal fruit, rock melon, tomato, basil - the stracciatella was strangely sweet and we both did not like this one at all. The mains we chose were: squid ink spaghetti, spanner crab, pastrami powder - this dish was not that amazing as everyone has made it out to be, it was more of the presentation that 'wowed' people. Taste wise, it was just very average and not really worth it. spinach fettuccine, abalone, nori, salmon roe, capers - this was a flavour bomb, my favourite out of the 2 mains that we had, it was delicious, the abalone was cooked perfectly and the sauce coated everything nicely. The dessert was a tiramisu. This was one of the highlights of the menu as it was delicious. We also ordered 2 cocktails, the don't be shy and the amaretto sour. These were both tasty and good cocktails. Overall, ALT was just very average and we will not be dining here again.

The food was great, especially the entrees. Every bite was delicious and filled with flavour! I loved the squid ink pasta with spanned crab, it was buttery and herby. Carbonara was extremely creamy but slightly too heavy for my personal taste. Only complaint I have is I don’t like sitting on the high chairs (we had a reservation) because it’s not relaxing and feels like you’re sitting at a bar. They weren’t able to move us on request.

Loved the experience! The meal was great and Karile looked after us with outstanding hospitality. The environment is welcoming giving the right amount of space and privacy despite being busy. The food was great, some up and downs between the courses but I appreciate the kitchen efforts on blending modern dishes along with traditional ones. The oyster and the tartare were amazing! The trout was ok however the blood orange uplifted the flavour in general. Also the stracciatella was a nice surprise. The carbonara was a blast, the few ingredients perfectly put together brought me back in Italy! The gnocchi were good however,the chilli oil wasn't necessary as the ragu was quite rich in flavour already. The deserts were nice too, compared to the previous dishes amd the ice cream, I think the tiramisu could have been better (the portions were a bit too generous). We tried the chef menu, now that I know what to pick I'll be back with my wife for sure!
